Dr. Sameer Patel completed his Honours Bachelor of Science in human biology at the University of Toronto. From a young age Dr. Patel knew he wanted to be a part of the health care community and decided to pursue his Doctor of Optometry degree at Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. He also earned a second Bachelor of Science degree in Vision Science at Nova Southeastern University and received the Module Director’s Award for clinical excellence in the area of primary optometric care.

Dr. Patel went on to complete his ocular disease rotation at Aker Kasten Eye Center in Boca Raton Florida.  At this site he worked with ophthalmologists and optometrists to provide care for pre and post operative cataract patients, as well as a variety of corneal and retinal disease cases. He completed his primary care rotation at South Florida Vision Associates in Fort Lauderdale.

Dr. Patel had the opportunity to rotate through several specialized clinics including; pediatrics, binocular vision, vision therapy, geriatrics, contact lens fitting, low vision and primary care. Some of his interests in the field of optometry include pediatric optometry, computer vision, contact lens fitting and sports vision.

Dr. Patel is a member of the College of Optometrist of Ontario and the Ontario Association of Optometrists.  In addition to English, he is fluent in Gujarati.
